Templates: The Fundamentals

Create and manage your templates as described in the following sections:

What is a Template?

Templates are a way of saving a preset format for a document or file that the format does not have to be recreated each time it is used.  Typical use cases for a templates would be emails, alerts, or generated documents.

Create a Template

To Create a Template:

  1. Open settings from the User menu.
  2. Select Templates  from the UX dropdown menu.
  3. Click + Add New in the top header of the Queues list view to add a new Queue.
  4. Fill out the required fields and hit Save.

Configure a Template

  1. Create a new Template
  2. Update the following settings

Setting Description
Name The name of the template to be displayed in lists
Source The source of the template.  Can be Text, Document, or Webpage
Description Description of the templates use case
Active Template active or inactive status
Types Types of template. Can be Email, SMS, Document Generation, or Phone Call
Body If type is text, the body of the text template
Sender If type is text, the template sender
File If type is file, the file to be the uploaded as the document template 
Page ID If type is webpage, the page identifier for the webpage tempalte

View the Template Configuration

To view the queue configuration:

  1. Open settings from the User menu.
  2. Select Templates from the UX menu.
  3. Select the queue in the list that you want to view.
  4. Click the queue name or ID to be taken to the detail view.

Delete a Template

To delete a Template:

  1. Open settings from the User menu.
  2. Select Templates from the UX menu.
  3. Search for the Queue in the list that you want to delete.
  4. Click the delete button. To see the delete button, you must have Delete options on the objects in one of the permission sets assigned to your user role.
